Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis remains the most common reason behind recurring arch pain.

Plantar fasciitis is a strain of the ligament under the foot.

Causative factors:
-Unsupportive footwear
-Problematic Biomechanics
-Sudden increase in activity
-Pregnancy
-Walking barefoot
-Weight gain

This image shows an ultrasound of plantar fasciitis. This condition is treated by correcting the biomechanical issue causing the problem, after biomechanical and gait analysis.

Most patients get better with conservative non invasive treatment using the following treatment strategies:
-Advanced custom orthotics, to reduce the strain on the plantar fascia during gait
-Taping/Strapping of the plantar aspect
-Specific stretches to stretch out the plantar fascisa
-Exercise prescription
-Massage
-Shockwave therapy
-Reduces pain
-Stimulates healing
-Breaks up scar tissue
